This qualification is ideal for anybody who delivers meetings or training in the workplace or wishes to teach in the further Education & Skills Sector and forms a foundation for those with little or no previous experience of teaching or training. This award is also required for anybody teaching a range of regulated

qualifications and awards provided by awarding organisations. Anyone wishing to enrol on this course should be at least 19 years of age and have access to a laptop and internet connection.

The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (QCF), is awarded through our partner organisation Training Qualifications UK and leads to a nationally recognised qualification. This award is designed to prepare learners for teaching or training in a wide range of contexts.

The award is divided into three parts; each learner must complete part A which is mandatory. Learners will be asked to choose 1 unit from part B and 1 unit from part C to complete the award.

This program has a minimum 48 guided learning hour’s duration but could take learners up to 120 hours to complete fully. Each learner will be expected to complete an online portfolio which will record evidence for assessment. The learner will be expected to have contact with their designated tutor regularly throughout the course. This may be email, telephone or face to face contact.

How is this course assessed?

Assessment activities for this course may include any number of the following; Assessment grids, assessment tasks, Assignments, case studies, checklists, essays, observations, online assessments, portfolio of evidence, professional discussion, projects, questions, reflective learning journal, self-evaluation/action plan, written statements and worksheets.

Each learner will also be expected to submit a 15-minute micro teach video for marking by the course tutor.

Following successful course completion:

Each participant will be issued with a Level 3 certificate. There will also be further reading resources and additional courses suggested for learners should they wish to further their knowledge in this area

This qualification is designed for individuals who wish to assess occupational competence and skills in the workplace. This award is also required for anybody assessing a range of regulated qualifications and awards provided by awarding organisations. Anyone wishing to enrol on this course should be at least 18 years of age and have access to a laptop and internet connection and be at least level 2 literacy and numeracy skills.

Additionally, anybody enrolling on this course must have at least 2 learners available that they can assess in the workplace or similar real-life environment – simulation is not allowed for this award.

This qualification replaces the A1 and A2 qualifications and is part of the new suite of qualifications for assessors, internal quality assessors and external quality assessors.

The certificate is made up of 3 mandatory units. Learners must achieve 15 credits from the 3 units to gain the qualification. The units are as follows:

The course will have equipped you to undertake the role of assessor in a range of environments including; the lifelong learning sector, Adult/community education sector, public and voluntary service sectors, HM forces plus a range of commercial organisations.

Career progression:

Successful completion of this course may subsequently lead to additional training such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training.
